Secrets of the Millionaire Mind reveals the missing link between wanting success and achieving it! Have you ever wondered why some people seem to get rich easily, while others are destined for a life of financial struggle? Is the difference found in their education, intelligence, skills, timing, work habits, contacts, luck, or their choice of jobs, businesses, or investments? The shocking answer is: None of the above!

In his groundbreaking Secrets of the Millionaire Mind, T. Harv Eker states: Give me five minutes, and I can predict your financial future for the rest of your life! Eker does this by identifying your money and success blueprint. We all have a personal money blueprint ingrained in our subconscious minds, and it is this blueprint, more than anything, that will determine our financial lives. You can know everything about marketing, sales, negotiations, stocks, real estate, and the world of finance, but if your money blueprint is not set for a high level of success, you will never have a lot of money — and if somehow you do, you will most likely lose it! The good news is that now you can actually reset your money blueprint to create natural and automatic success.

Secrets of the Millionaire Mind is two books in one. Part I explains how your money blueprint works. Through Ekers rare combination of street smarts, humor, and heart, you will learn how your childhood influences have shaped your financial destiny. You will also learn how to identify your own money blueprint and revise it to not only create success but, more important, to keep and continually grow it. In Part II you will be introduced to seventeen Wealth Files, which describe exactly how rich people think and act differently than most poor and middle-class people. Each Wealth File includes action steps for you to practice in the real world in order to dramatically increase your income and accumulate wealth.

If you are not doing as well financially as you would like, you will have to change your money blueprint. Unfortunately your current money blueprint will tend to stay with you for the rest of your life, unless you identify and revise it, and thats exactly what you will do with the help of this extraordinary book. According to T. Harv Eker, its simple. If you think like rich people think and do what rich people do, chances are youll get rich too!

Best Book I Have Read In 10 Years
I have been in business for many years, I have read MANY books over the years, Now unless I have missed something in them T.Harv Ekers book is the 1st one I read to talk about your financial blue print. (This is only out of the books I have read) Since reading this book I have changed the way I run my personal finances and business finances. This is the only book I would recomend to anyone else. I have even told people if they read it and do not like it I will BUY the book back from them. Out of all the people I have told that to who actually went out AND took action and bought it NOT 1 has asked me to buy it back. Crazy what happens when WE take responsibility for where we are in our life what can happen. I have bought numerous copies of this book and given them as gifts. THIS is the only book in 10 years I have done that with. This book will not make you rich but if you do what the book says YOU will see a change in your life and yourt finances. Please excuse my spelling and have a great life. I believe all is possible when we TAKE action.

When Robert Kincaid drives through the heat and dust of an Iowa summer and turns into Francesca Johnsons farm lane looking for directions, the world-class photographer and the Iowa farm wife are joined in an experience of uncommon truth and stunning beauty that will haunt them forever. The romantic classic of the 1990s.

Destiny, Romance, Responsiblity…
I LIVED this story with my ex- now passed away husband. Fortunately my children have learned to love their “new” Dad. I don’t understand the angst of writers who would slam it. It is LIFE. Warm, heartfelt and beautiful. The woman in this book did, in fact, love her husband and children enough to sacrifice her entire life for them. She did not get to spend time with the man she truly loved and I’m more fortunate than she . . . yet her charactor is supurb; her love no less. I admire her and do not understand the negative reviews, unless of course those who choose to review negatively also have never experienced the conflicts of life and love. It is true, it does occur and it is a travisty that we do not acknowledge it.

Forced to leave her sunny Caribbean home for the bleak Connecticut Colony, Kit Tyler is filled with trepidation. As they sail up the river to Kits new home, the teasing and moodiness of a young sailor named Nat doesnt help. Still, her unsinkable spirit soon bobs back up. What this spirited teenager doesnt count on, however, is how her aunt and uncles stern Puritan community will view her. In the colonies of 1687, a girl who swims, wears silk and satin gowns, and talks back to her elders is not only headstrong, she is in grave danger of being regarded as a witch. When Kit befriends an old Quaker woman known as the Witch of Blackbird Pond, it is more than the ascetics can take: soon Kit is defending her life. Who can she count on as she confronts these angry and suspicious townspeople?

A thoroughly exciting and rewarding Newbery Medal winner and ALA Notable Childrens Book, Elizabeth George Speares The Witch of Blackbird Pond brings this frightening period of witch hysteria to life. Readers will wonder at the power of the mob mentality, and the need for communities in desperate times–even current times–to find a scapegoat. (Ages 9 and older) –Emilie Coulter

Great Book For Young Girls
I read this book as an adolescent, and recently re-read it, as I would like to write Young Adult fiction. It’s an excellent story, with very real characters. As a Newbery Award winner, I wouldn’t expect any less of a book.

I don’t understand why some people say there aren’t enough books for the young adult age group to read. After reading Harry Potter, some say, there’s nowhere for kids to go to find other good books.

The quality of the writing in this book and other Newbery Award winners runs circles around any Harry Potter book (and probably also around Twilight).

If you’re a teacher or a parent and don’t know how to find all the Newbery books, just google Newbery on the internet – there’s been a medal-winning book every year since, I think, the 1920′s, as well as several Newbery Honor books each year, and they’re all listed.

Have your child or student read a wonderful book!

We have to test everything. I thank God for anybody anywhere who is pointing people to the mysteries of God. But those people would all tell you to think long and hard about what they are saying and doing and creating. Test it. Probe it. Do that to this book. Dont swallow it uncritically. Think about it. Wrestle with it. Just because Im a Christian and Im trying to articulate a Christian worldview doesnt mean Ive got it nailed. Im contributing to the discussion. God has spoken, and the rest is commentary, right?

Embrace Your Doubts
This book has helped me to not be so concerned about having doubts about my Christian faith and not spend all of my energy learning what is factual and not factual about the Jesus story. Rob Bell’s book has helped me to realize that the story of Jesus is about MOVING and being a part of the story of self sacrificial love that Jesus showed us. It doesn’t mean that the story of Jesus isn’t factual, but that our time and energy need to be spent showing others love and helping them see what love is instead of getting people to sign off on a set of beliefs and worry about who is “in” and who is “out”.

‘Sir Ernest Shackleton and his crew make today’s hightech adventurers look like dilettantes. Their interminable voyage across frozen land and open sea is one of the most harrowing survival stories of all time.’ Sebastian Junger, author of the bestselling The Perfect Storm.
In 1914 Sir Ernest Shackleton and a crew of 27 men set sail for the South Atlantic on board the Endurance. The object of the expedition was to cross the Antarctic overland. In October 1915, still half a continent away from their intended base, the ship was trapped, then crushed in ice. For seventeen months Shackleton and his men, drifting on ice packs and then on the stormiest seas on the globe, were castaways in this most savage region of the world.
Frank Hurley, the photographer of the expedition, documented their struggles, miraculously saving his negatives and photographs from destruction at each stage of their journey. His photographs illustrate the dramatic, terrible beauty of the lands with which they were contending. They also provide an unsurpassable insight into the extraordinary spirit of Shackleton and his crew, and their extraordinary indefatigability and lasting civility towards one another in the most adverse conditions.
Lansing’s gripping narrative, based on firsthand accounts of crew members and interviews with survivors, vividly describes how the men lived together in camps on the ice until they reached land, how they were attacked by sea leopards, ate sea lion and polar bear, developed frostbite (an operation to amputate the foot of one member of the crew was carried out on the ice), and finally embarked on a 850-mile voyage in a 22-foot open lifeboat to find help.

A Timeless Story Of Leadership
Very well written and documented account of one of the worlds greatest pioneers and expeditions. Endurance was the name of the ship, but the book will forever define the meaning of endurance and the will to survive against impossible odds.

One day in 1992, Thomas Friedman toured a Lexus factory in Japan and marveled at the robots that put the luxury cars together. That evening, as he ate sushi on a Japanese bullet train, he read a story about yet another Middle East squabble between Palestinians and Israelis. And it hit him: Half the world was lusting after those Lexuses, or at least the brilliant technology that made them possible, and the other half was fighting over who owned which olive tree.

Friedman, the well-traveled New York Times foreign-affairs columnist, peppers The Lexus and the Olive Tree with stories that illustrate his central theme: that globalization–the Lexus–is the central organizing principle of the post-cold war world, even though many individuals and nations resist by holding onto what has traditionally mattered to them–the olive tree.

Problem is, few of us understand what exactly globalization means. As Friedman sees it, the concept, at first glance, is all about American hegemony, about Disneyfication of all corners of the earth. But the reality, thank goodness, is far more complex than that, involving international relations, global markets, and the rise of the power of individuals (Bill Gates, Osama Bin Laden) relative to the power of nations.

No one knows how all this will shake out, but The Lexus and the Olive Tree is as good an overview of this sometimes brave, sometimes fearful new world as youll find. –Lou Schuler

Not Only Useful But Also Exciting
Friedman has compared the pre and post cold war worlds. How the power has shifted from nations to the markets. How important have business and markets become in this globalized world.

Investors wield enormous power in moving capital around the world, wherever the returns are likely to be maximum. All that with the click of a mouse. It is not just the individual investor. It is a collection of investors acting independently but voting together on the quality of Governance of a country. On the business friendliness of a country. He calls this collection as an “electronic herd” and the process itself as democratization of finance.

Democratization of finance was enabled by the democratization of information and the democratization of the technology. Democratization of information started with internet. All these processes are enabling the cycle of innovation to commoditization at the speed of net.

Cold war was based on chess board and check book. Super powers paid to supporting countries for occupying a square on the chess board. Electronic herd, on the other hand, plays monopoly. Lexus is symbolic of democratized high technology, while the Olive tree is symbolic of cold war thinking of occupying a square.

Joining global economy and plugging into the electronic herd is the equivalent of taking your country public. The electronic herd votes every hour every day thru their mutual funds, their pension funds, their brokers, from their basements via internet. Electronic herds brought down Suharto, made South Korea send out an e-mail to global investors detailing currency reserves at the end of each business day, including, as best as it can, private capital flows. Democratization of finance has also meant that the Bonds and stock markets liberate entrepreneurs from having to cultivate relationships with just a handful of Bankers in order to raise cash. Companies that issue stocks and bonds have their performance judged every day by the electronic herd.

Not joining the global economy is an invitation to let bureaucrats and cronies allocate capital rather than the market place. Although Capitalism is not good at distribution of income (socialism is good at it), but it is capitalism which can ensure growth through proper allocation of resources. In the bargain, some people could get hurt. And the social safety nets are supposed to take care of them.

Thucydides wrote in his History of Peoloponnesian war that nations fight for three reasons-honor, fear, interest. Businesses and markets are influencing countries to desist from going to war. Friedman makes an interesting observation that no two countries that both had McDonalds had fought a war against each other since each got its McDonalds.

Globalization is also leading to a wide gap between the super skilled, skilled, not so skilled and unskilled.Winner takes all explains why Michael Jordan made more money than his peers at NBA because he was a global icon after the collapse of Berlin wall.

Over connected world is making the society and the world more claustrophobic. We are all connected but no one is in charge.

Horrormeister Koontz looks heavenward for inspiration in his newest suspense thriller, which is chock-full of signs, portents, angels, and one somewhat second-rate devil, a murky and undercharacterized guy named Junior Cain who throws his beloved wife off a fire tower on an Oregon mountain and spends the rest of the novel waiting for the retribution that will surely come. But not before a series of tragedies ensues that convince Junior that someone or something named Bartholomew is out to exact vengeance for that crime and the series of other murders that follow.

Bartholomews own troubles begin with his birth, which transpires moments after his father is killed in a traffic accident as he is taking his wife to the hospital, and continue with the loss of his eyes at the tender age of 3. Young Bartholomew has visionary gifts, though to his mother, a nice lady whos renowned for her pie-making abilities as well as her sweetly innocent nature, hes just a particularly smart kid who can read and write before his second birthday. Eventually, Bartholomew regains his sight, Junior Cain gets his comeuppance, and fate conspires to bring love into the Pie Ladys life, reward the faithful, and put a happy ending on this genre-bending tale. Koontz will no doubt rocket right to the top of the bestseller list with this inventive, if somewhat slower-paced, read. –Jane Adams

From The Corner Of His Eye
Dean Koontz is clearly undergoing, or revealing, his own faith in some of his writing. I’m not complaining, because this is adding a layer that I love – one where doubt, surprise, suspense and revelation all take their turn.

At the first page, we are introduced to characters who are immediately embraceable, but Koontz can be cruel to his readers. No sooner did I fall in love with some folks than I lost them to the villain or to the vagaries of life in a Koontz plot. As annoying as I might find this with a lesser writer, with Mr. Koontz, I accepted the challenge and understood the need. The book is plotted in such a way that, just when I thought I couldn’t stand another page of the awful behavior of the bad guy, the story moved to the good folks who populate the novel in much greater numbers. Agnes, Maria, Barty, Angel, Celestina, Wally – these are interesting, fun people, and I loved knowing them.

Sometimes when I’m reading a long novel, I think “come on now, let’s get on with it.” At the end of 730 pages, I was disappointed that FROM THE CORNER OF HIS EYE was over so soon.

If there ever was a pair of docs who can make the small intestine seem truly intriguing, here they are. Dr. Mehmet Oz is an alternative-medicine maverick and a cardiologist known to implement acupuncture during open-heart surgery. Dr. Michael Roizen developed the RealAge concept of calculating ones biological, as opposed to chronological, age. Here theyve whipped up a witty guide to the workings of the entire body, appropriate not just for those who cant tell their pancreas from their pituitary. Even Cheers’ Cliff Claven types who think they know it all will likely be humbled by the 50-question body-quotient quiz that starts off the book.

With much sassy humor (they describe the adrenals as similar in shape to Mr. Potato Heads hat), they give a guided tour of the bodys anatomy and major systems (hormonal, nervous, digestive, sensory, etc.) including plenty of fascinating trivia along the way. How often should you get your thyroid level checked? How much gas does the average person produce in a day? And, most important, how many times a year do most people have sex?? Drs. Oz and Roizen know. They also reveal plenty of bizarre (and potentially life-saving) facts such as this: If your earlobe has a prominent vertical wrinkle, its likely that your arteries are aging faster than they ought to be. If only 8th-grade health class had been this fun.

The docs main goal in presenting all this info is twofold: first, its your body, so shouldnt you finally learn how it works? And, second, they want to help teach ways of preserving the bodys health and youthfulness. To that end, theyve included an Owners Manual Diet, a 10-day menu plan designed not for weight loss, but to make you feel years younger. Its simple recipes are each meant to benefit a certain body system, such as Tomato Bruschetta, packed with the antioxidant lycopene, which has been proven to boost immunity. –Erica Jorgensen

So Comprehensive, I Sold My Other Books On Ebay!
First of all, let me say that I have been unhealthy for 15 years. Im only 33 so thats sad and ridiculous. I bought this book after seeing it on the Oprah show. Im the definition of skeptical but I thought what the hay. After reading this book, I took the first step of calling my doctor and setting up a blood serum test. The tests were frightening. Where do I begin?

I had diabetes, was anemic, had a serious Vitamin D deficiency (only 17) , high blood pressure (143/93) , elevated liver enzymes (92) (fatty) liver and was 126 lbs. overweight. I just cried. I immediately began some of the suggestions in the book and followed the diet offered in the back of the book. I replaced my bacon and eggs in the morning with steel-cut oatmeal, milk and fruit. I havent eaten red meat in three months. I only drink milk, decaf coffee, water, and occasionally a diet soda. I eat nuts everyday and fish at least three times a week. I feel like a new person. So the results? I started doing all this on Jan. 4 (My New Yearss Resolution). Im 33 lbs. lighter, off ALL my medications, Im no longer anemic, Vitamin D deficient, and Im down from a size 22/24 to an 18.

I personally wrote Dr. Oz and Dr. Roizen because I have never been able to understand how what I eat and supplements I take affect my body. This book is so SIMPLE and I love the whimsy illustrations and simple explanations. I finally understand what to look for in a multivitamin, what my liver does, why Omega-3 is SO important, and foods that repair and restore the body.

Im a changed person FOREVER and Im not looking back!!!

Patrick J. Buchanans contentious premise in The Death of the West is that the United States is no longer a healthy melting pot, but instead a confused, tottering conglomeration of peoples with almost nothing in common. Relying on United Nations population statistics, and citing such diverse sources as Yogi Berra and Rhett Butler, Buchanan sees for America four clear and present dangers: declining birth rates; uncontrolled immigration of peoples of different colors, creed, and cultures; a rise of anti-Western culture antithetical to established religious, cultural, and moral norms; and a defection of ruling elites to the idea of world government. His solutions include higher wages and tax breaks for parents than for singles, a dramatic rollback of immigration quotas, and a National History Bee. Buchanans volatile, adamant book eschews any middle ground. Readers will either applaud his ideas or be repulsed by them. –H. OBillovitch

Superb Expose Of Marxist Ideologies Underpinning Western Culture.
With characteristic precision, Mr. Buchanan details the confluence of Marxist ideologies, Hell bent (literally) on permanently destroying any vestige of Judeo-Christian influence in Western European and American culture.

Promoted through the cooperative support of the Mass Media, and featuring such pet causes as the Civil Rights movement, Afro-centrism, the birth control pill, the push for legalized abortion, free love, Womens Liberation, gay rights, and provided with a lap dog, tongue hanging, captive audience of bored, disaffected, post war affluent youth, this subversive coterie virtually created the world we now call politically correct.

Never mind that their agenda boasted and promoted sins and social maladies long considered anathema by previous generations.

The result we see all around us–the stench of the deconstuctionist, high tech, sexually libertine, post Christian West. No its not a pretty picture.

Yes, the cultural well has been poisoned, but Mr. Buchanan has at least hung out a warning sign–Dont Drink From This Well!

Highly recommended.

The Story Behind Crush it!

Everything has changed. The social media revolution has irreversibly changed the way we live our lives and conduct our business. There are billions of dollars in advertising moving online, waiting to be claimed by whoever can build the best content and communities. Despite this change, most people keep working at jobs that don’t make them happy and businesses continue to ignore the major marketing and public relations benefits that can be found online.

Myth #1: I’m not passionate about something sexy or popular like wine so these lessons don’t apply to me.

The internet has drastically decreased the costs of building communities around niche subjects, allowing for even the most obscure subjects to draw enough eyeballs to command advertising attention. Starting a video blog about tortilla chips may seem farfetched until Doritos gives you a call and offers 40,000 a year to sponsor and advertise on your blog.

Myth #2: My business already has a Twitter account and a Facebook page, we’re set in the social media department.

This is the equivalent of claiming twenty years ago that just because your business bought a TV spot and a few ads in the newspaper, you didn’t need to pay attention to your advertising department. Social media isn’t about joining in, it’s about being involved.

Myth #3: I’m happy at my job so this book is irrelevant to me.

First of all, congratulations on finding work that makes you happy! However, the lessons in this book are valuable to anyone, regardless of their employment status. Crush It will show you how to utilize high level and platform specific social media and marketing strategies that will improve your work. It will also show you how to build a personal brand so that even if you’re forced to leave your job, a situation that’s especially relevant today, you’ll be able to easily find employment elsewhere in a field you’re passionate about.

Myth #4: I need to quit my job to take advantage of this book’s entrepreneurial lessons.

While the entrepreneurial strategies in this book do take time, it’s completely reasonable to start the effort as an after-work project to build up until you’re able to replace your current income with the income from your online presence. While you may have to fall behind on the current season of Lost or let your Madden 2010 game suffer, because you’ll be doing something you love you won’t mind putting in the extra effort.

In Crush It, Gary Vaynerchuk shows how anyone can build a career around what they’re passionate about. He also delivers both high-level and platform specific strategy and analysis, allowing you to take advantage of the current business environment while preparing you to succeed as it changes and evolves.

This book isn’t interested in making unrealistic promises while glossing over the work involved. Making a living by building content around your passion isn’t simple and it doesn’t happen overnight. What it is, however, is fulfilling and in most cases just as profitable, if not more so, than your previous job.

Crush It, Why now is the time to cash in on your passion, a book by Gary Vaynerchuk, written in 2009, is a book that discusses the use of social media and the internet to develop and market your own personal brand. The book is written in a very conversational mode, where Gary tells a story of his own brand development and the tools and methods he used to make himself the man and brand he is today. Along the way he imparts many of the core values of brand marketing and promotion.
Gary Vaynerchuk, an immigrant from Babruysk Russia, born in 1975, comes to America with his family. His father opens a liquor store in northern New Jersey. Along the way Gary educates himself in wine, a growing market, and proceeds to grow that business from a single store to a wine empire.
Gary delves into his “DNA” and talks about how he sees value in collectible items, such as baseball cards. His focus evolves into entrepreneurship and he takes over the wine business and grows winelibrary.tv into a wine empire. He has become one of the most prominent figures in the wine reviewing business, and commands a ransom to present on social media and the use of the Internet to promote branding and new business development.
The book “Crush It!” focuses on utilizing new, free tools on the Internet to capitalize on branding and developing a business. Some of the major themes include: Becoming the foremost expert in your “passion”; Use of social media and the Internet to promote yourself/brand; Differentiation; Hard work; and Caring.
In “Crush It!,” Gary’s first pearl of marketing wisdom is take whatever it is you love the most and develop that into a business. Educate yourself in every aspect of your passion. Read every bit of material about your subject, find others who are considered experts in that subject and learn from them. Insert yourself into the conversations on the topic and make your opinion known. Once you become an expert in your field, develop content to “sell” your ideas to others. The key to developing this rapport is building trust. Gary states over and over be authentic and original with the content and the “eyeballs” will come.
A great deal of the book is dedicated to developing and using new age media an social networks to promote your newly developed brand. As we have discussed (at great length) social media networks, such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and a multitude of others, have gained great traction with many “old school of thought” marketers. More and more Facebook and Twitter “badges” can be seen on old media promotions. For example, television advertisements will have the Facebook and/or Twitter logos at the end of the ad, and suggest that you “find us on X.” This is the new value marketing play. Brand loyalty is perpetuated by “fans and followers” of these social media networks. New networks are arising daily if not hourly. One such example is “WOMMA ” a website devoted to the development and support of word of mouth marketing. Large, household names like Best Buy, McDonalds, Kraft, and Pepsi-Co are all contributors.
A whole new network of social media marketing gurus has been developed. Each has a focus and specializes in certain market segments. Another, more local, company two-five media, specializes in wine and hospitality in Sonoma County. Companies now have the ability to use these social media networks to conduct targeted research as well as have “personal” communications directly with their consumers. This is the most powerful tool to come to marketing in a generation.
Differentiation is another core marketing value discussed in “Crush It!” With the Internet age upon us it is exceptionally easy to blend in with the noise and chaff. One must truly be exceptional to stand out in a crowd. A favorite quote of mine from the book is “So how are you going to differentiate yourself from all the other clowns? (“Clowns” is, of course, used in the best possible way.)” It’s this, in-your-face method that Gary delivers the message that you need to be the best you that you can be. It’s a challenge, no doubt. Just Googling “differentiate using social media” gives the following: Results 1 – 10 of about 59,500 for how to differentiate yourself in social media. The social media landscape is moving at light speed and a marketer needs to “hustle” just to keep up with it, which leads me to the next pearl.
Hustle! Gary Vaynerchuk makes no bones about the fact that 99% of the people who embark on a journey to “Crush It!” will not have the “chops” to get the job done. Hard work and patience are the two keys to making it happen. Another gem Gary provides is about patience, he says “If you contact me within a year of starting your business to complain that you haven’t made the money you thought you would, you’re not listening. I said that you could make a ton of money being happy; I didn’t say you could do it overnight.” Patience and hard work, seems reasonable, right?
Gary devotes an entire chapter to the next pearl of wisdom. Chapter nine is called the best marketing strategy ever. The entirety of this chapter consists of only five characters, C-A-R-E-. It may be just that, the best marketing strategy ever, many companies have lost touch with their consumers. This harkens back to the use of ethnography and psychographic segmentation. Both of these market research strategies hinge on understanding the emotional connection with brands and products as well as the behaviors that motivate a consumer to make the choices that he or she does. By “Caring” a marketer should be able to glean this information.
In summary there are some great anecdotal stories in “Crush It!” that expose Gary’s brash and cavalier personality. Behind these stories lay some basic marketing strategies that can and should be applied to any marketing situation. Understand your business and be the most knowledgeable about your market and products. Use technology to your advantage. Your competition is! Differentiate yourself and stand out in that online crowd. Work your ass off but don’t expect instant results, hard work takes time and patience. Finally and most importantly, take the time to care about your consumer. They are after all the sponsor of your business and their recommendations are worth more than anything you could pay for.
